WIPAG supplies GEMÜ Group with customized compounds

Neuburg a.d. Donau (Germany), October 12, 2022. WIPAG developed a customized compound for a diaphragm valve of the GEMÜ Group, using a specific PP polymer as well as a mixture of carbon and glass fibers. The specialty compound from WIPAG is used in the GEMÜ 687 diaphragm valve. Diaphragm valves are used in many industries, for example in medical technology. The GEMÜ Group is a leading manufacturer of valve, measurement and control systems for liquids, vapors and gases with its headquarters in Ingelfingen-Criesbach, Baden-Württemberg.
Due to the high demands of the complex application in terms of mechanical and technical target values, more than ten formulations have been written, produced and tested by the customer since the start of development in 2019. In the end, WIC PP10 GF20 HM BK meets all requirements for electrical conductivity and also scores with great toughness, dynamic load capacity and a good price-performance ratio. Throughout the process, the WIPAG sister company ALBIS was available to consult the client.
"Together with our colleagues from ALBIS, we were able to convince our customer of our product by addressing the individual requirements," says Thomas Marquardt, Managing Director Sales, Marketing & Development at WIPAG. "This project is a good example of how close cooperation between several companies strengthens the material and distribution expertise of the individual players."
