MOCOM: sustainable compounds for Evoko

Hamburg, August 31, 2022. MOCOM supplies Evoko, a Swedish manufacturer of technical solutions for modern workplaces, with Altech^® ECO and Alcom^® compounds. They are used in the Kleeo desk manager, a device designed for office spaces with flexible workplace concepts. With the help of a display it shows which workstation is available, has been checked in or is waiting for people. MOCOM meets the requirements for high-quality design while reducing the carbon footprint by using Alcom^® LD2 PC 1000 UV 15003 CC1003-15 and Altech^® PC+ABS ECO 1000/500 NC0001-00.

A good team: Altech^® ECO and Alcom^®

Alcom^® LD2 PC 1000 UV 15003 CC1003-15 is used for the signal frame of the display. The material is characterized by a combination of diffusive and transparent properties. It collects the light from the LED’s hidden behind the display, guides the light to the front surface and diffuse the light for a homogeneous appearance. Therefore, the illuminated frame can indicate with bright and color-changing signals whether a table is free or booked.

Altech^® PC+ABS ECO 1000/500 NC0001-00 is used in all other plastic parts of the Kleeo desk manager. It’s a natural colored grade, based on recycled polycarbonate, that is colored with a master batch at the injection molding machine, has good mechanical properties and reduces the carbon footprint by 56 percent compared to a PC/ABS Blend based on prime polymers.
