Fakuma 2021: MOCOM's first trade show appearance with focus on sustainable solutions for future-oriented applications

Hamburg, 8/16/2021. MOCOM, the compounder and former business unit of ALBIS, will exhibit at Fakuma 2021 at booth 4206 in hall B4.

As a producer of high-performance thermoplastic compounds, MOCOM is active in automotive, healthcare, sports & leisure, building & construction and electrics & electronics markets. The product portfolio includes established brands Alcom®, Altech®, Tedur® and Alfater® providing tailor made solutions based on the technical expertise and development know-how of the MOCOM team.

MOCOM is responding to the growing demand for sustainable products expanding its Altech® PP ECO portfolio with products based on 100% post-consumer recyclate, in Near-To-Prime® quality. The Alfater XL® ECO portfolio added a sustainable TPV based entirely on PP recyclate and renewable raw materials (Bio EPDM). CO2 savings are calculated using the widely used GaBi software.

Responding to needs of the e-mobility sector, MOCOM has added recyclate-based compounds to its Altech® portfolio with optimal flame retardant properties replacing metals in engine components, and also in the battery charging infrastructure, reducing the CO2 footprint of the application.

With Alcom® Lighting, MOCOM has an entire product family of market-leading light-diffusing, light-conducting, opaque as well as reflective compounds. Latest innovations include Alcom® LDDC, a deep black transparent material, suitable for "black panel" display applications ("piano lacquer" look without illumination, symbols visible when backlit). Furthermore, Alcom® LIR with its high IR transmission and simultaneous suppression of visible light provides a "black panel" effect for sensors for gesture control or IR camera covers.

Alcom® Lighting is increasingly used in Exterior Lighting, which includes illuminated branding elements, and lighting elements on vehicles enabling drivers to communicate with their environment and are suitable for completely new functions beyond pure aesthetics.

In building technology and other industries, solutions from Tedur®, high-performance PPS, including Tedur® HTR, support thermal management of power electronics thanks to excellent tracking resistance and thermal conductivity.
