Fakuma 2023: MOCOM focuses on lighting, lightweight construction and recyclates

Hamburg, August 3, 2023. MOCOM will be exhibiting at Fakuma 2023 in Friedrichshafen, Booth 4206 in Hall B4, focusing on technical polymers for lighting and lightweight applications as well as sustainable compounds. Fakuma will take place this year from October 17 to 21 and is one of the world's leading trade fairs for industrial plastics processing.

This year, the trade fair will focus on circular economy and sustainability. Sustainable plastics solutions have also become the focus for the compounder MOCOM. The Hamburg-based company, therefore, supplies numerous customers around the world with customized recycled compounds, including those in industries such as automotive and transportation, electrical and electronics, sports and leisure as well as home and garden. "As a compounder with profound technical know-how, we can significantly influence and advance the circular economy in the plastics industry," says Jens Kaatze, CEO of MOCOM. "At Fakuma, we want to show once again that technical polymers are capable of facing the challenges of the future."

In response to the shift toward more sustainable products, MOCOM is changing the strategic direction of its product portfolio, increasingly concentrating on the extensive ECO portfolio and compounds for lightweight applications used primarily in e-mobility. Based on post-consumer recyclate (PCR) and post-industrial recyclate (PIR), MOCOM offers a broad technical product portfolio of sustainable materials with the Altech® ECO and Alfater XL® ECO brands. MOCOM also develops individual compounds manufactured with bio-based raw materials. The portfolio is complemented by the recyclate-based Alcom® LB ECO, which is used in reflector applications with its highly reflective and lightproof properties, and Alcom® LD ECO for light-diffusing applications.
